Senior Marketing Specialist
Noushin Tasnim is enthusiastic about her career as a marketing professional at Community First Credit Union, and grateful that she got her start as a college student in the company’s internship program.
“Like many students, I was searching for an opportunity to get real experience and was fortunate to land an internship with Community First Credit Union,” said Tasnim. “The internship provided me with a well-rounded experience and opened up doors for me to grow.”
Tasnim, who earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing with a minor in digital marketing and analytics from the University of North Florida, is a Senior Marketing Specialist at Community First, a state-chartered credit union based in Jacksonville serving anyone who lives or works on the First Coast. Community First is a full-service financial institution offering banking, loans, mortgages and investments for consumers and businesses.
In less than five years, Tasnim has advanced from Digital Marketing Intern to Senior Marketing Specialist at Community First. After graduation from UNF, she joined Community First as a Marketing Specialist and was promoted to her current position in 2024. In her current role, Tasnim manages marketing campaigns from ideation to implementation for Community First’s loan products. She coordinates with internal teams, leadership and vendors, ensuring that Community First’s marketing campaigns align with the credit union’s priorities and objectives.
“I’m a marketing strategist,” Tasnim said. “I have to have a deep understanding of our audience, which are consumers, and the products that appeal to our target market.”
Tasnim’s position requires her to draw upon many skills including knowledge of marketing-related business practices, proficiency with marketing-related software programs, analytical and critical thinking skills and effective communication skills. She believes being results oriented and collaborating with team members and other stakeholders is essential to be successful in her role.
Tasnim’ s favorite campaigns have been the hockey themed Cooling Down loan rate promotion, a tie-in to Community First’s partnership with the Jacksonville Icemen and the Local Legends Program, offering special mortgage and auto loan rate discounts to educators, medical professionals, first responders, law enforcement and military and defense.
“It’s very rewarding to see the results of our marketing campaigns,” Tasnim said. “I am fortunate to collaborate with a team that embraces innovation and growth.”
For those interested in pursuing a career in marketing, Tasnim recommends attending job fairs, building connections with mentors and professionals and gaining professional experience through internships. The internship at Community First provided Tasnim with direct marketing experience, developing and executing campaigns, presenting to senior executives and building relationships.
“During my internship, I built strong relationships with a team that truly valued my growth,” Tasnim said. “My internship laid a foundation that opened the door to a full-time role after graduation, and with the support of incredible leaders and mentors, I have continued to grow. My journey is a testament to how impactful internships can be, not just for building skills, but for launching a meaningful and rewarding career.”
