Brandon Sides and Peyton Evers

Technology is shaping the future workforce and offering an abundance of career opportunities. A college degree is not always necessary to get a job in tech or IT. Many positions in the tech industry prioritize skills and experience over formal education with training programs to get started. 

AnuVision Technologies Inc. is an audiovisual company in Jacksonville that specializes in Audio Visual Integration and Technology Services. The Minority Women Owned Small Business works with other small local businesses, Fortune 100 companies, local, state, and federal government entities, and some of the largest universities and public school districts in the nation.  

AnuVision has a growing team who expertly deliver AV integration and engineering services with exceptional customer service, thriving on finding new ways to connect people with technology. They design and install digital displays, audio/video systems, interactive classroom technology, conference rooms, and specialty solutions.  

At AnuVision, Brandon Sides and Peyton Evers were hired straight out of high school, trained by the company, and are now flourishing as installation technicians.  

“I wanted to work in technology, and AnuVision presented a great opportunity to learn,” said Evers, who graduated from Fletcher High School, Duval County School District. “Every day is different and there is always something new to learn.”  

Sides and Evers joined AnuVision in 2023. Both had worked in food services and came to AnuVision with enthusiasm and interest. Sides and Evers did on-the-job training, job shadowing with lead technicians and other operations team mentors, and quickly developed essential workplace skills. AnuVisionencourages training and promotion from within. 

“The on-the-job training was hands-on and very enjoyable,” said Sides, who graduated from Middleburg High School, Clay County School District. “I didn’t realize all that goes into this job until I came to AnuVision.” 

In their roles as installation technicians, Evers and Sides work in collaboration with AnuVision team members installing audio visual systems, including all necessary cabling and equipment on-site, for a wide range of companies, government, and educational institutions. Although Evers and Sides did not have experience working in technology before joining AnuVision, both have thrived because of their work ethic, leadership skills, and positive attitudes.  

“You have to be highly motivated and want to learn and adapt to be successful in this job,” said Evers.  

“The position requires focus, attention to detail and the ability to work well with customers and colleagues,” added Sides.  

Both Evers and Sides agree the most rewarding part of their jobs is the end result and providing clients with the technology solutions to achieve their goals. 

“My favorite part of every job is the completion when everything comes together and works in unison,” said Sides. “It’s very satisfying to see the excitement from our clients when we finish a project.” 

AnuVision is growing. With expansion to Orlando and Tampa underway, the company plans to add additional employees including installation technicians. Both Sides and Evers encourage those interested to apply.
