Business Development Manager
For Morgan Hochstetler, having goals, ambition and an understanding of what she wanted in a career has been key to her success.
“I wanted a career where I could tap into my creativity and communication skills,” said Hochstetler, a Business Development Manager at Office Images, a nationally respected, full-service workplace furniture and architectural products dealership located in Jacksonville’s San Marco neighborhood.
Office Images is one of the largest Haworth dealerships in the country and provides furniture and architectural solutions nationwide to clients in commercial, government, education, and healthcare industries. Office Images is a leading industry authority on workplaces of the future, and its team is known for taking a visionary approach to creating connection and community.
“I absolutely love my job,” Hochstetler said. “No day is ever the same.”
In her role, Hochstetler’s responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities that will help strengthen existing client relationships and attract new clients in support of Office Images’ overall expansion goals. She also conducts research for making informed decisions and developing strategies. Her favorite project to date is working on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp’s new club space, Home Plate Club, at VyStar Ballpark.
“The new club space will enhance the fan experience and also support Downtown revitalization,” Hochstetler said.
Hochstetler joined Office Images as a sales development representative in 2023 after earning a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in advertising from the University of North Florida. While pursuing her degree, Hochstetler completed a Communications internship with the American Red Cross and also worked at two local small businesses in the service industries.
“My internship with the American Red Cross allowed me to connect with people in meaningful ways,” Hochstetler said. “The work I did made me realize that I enjoy building relationships with clients.”
Hochstetler’s communication/advertising degree offered flexibility, making it possible to pivot into a Business Development role that aligned with her strengths and interests. Business development professionals draw upon a wide variety of skills including relationship building, strategic thinking and analytical skills. They also benefit if they possess adaptability, resilience and the ability to embrace change.
“It takes strong listening skills and the ability to understand and connect with others,” Hochstetler said. “There are many times you have to think outside of the box to find the right solution for clients.”
Hochstetler’s enthusiasm and willingness to learn helped her thrive as she made the transition from a college student to working professional. Her advice to others is to stay open minded, accept challenges and trust yourself.
“Consider the skills and experience you have to offer,” Hochstetler said. “Never hesitate to ask questions and get feedback. It demonstrates that you want to learn and grow.”
Hochstetler attended high school and Valencia College in Orlando before transferring to UNF to complete her degree. After arriving, it didn’t take long for her to realize that she wanted to begin her career in Jacksonville.
“I decided to make Jacksonville my home,” Hochstetler said. “I love that I can live at the beach.”
